Almost two months into the NBA season, the contenders are starting to separate themselves from the pretenders and Ticket and The Truth are back to break it all down on this week’s edition of KG Certified.

The topic du jour at the moment is Anthony Davis, who recently put the Lakers on his back recently with 44 and 55 in consecutive games recently to beat the Bucks and Wizards on the road, and survived an injury scare to return for another 30-point night in Philly. Paul Pierce notes that the Lakers are a legitimate threat with Davis playing at his best.

“This is the version of AD the Lakers need. This is what we’ve been talking about. He needs to take over, be the guy. If AD is the guy, if he’s in the MVP talks, the Lakers got something,” Truth said. “We all know he was capable, skill-wise, of this. It’s just about the mentality of going out there and doing it every night. He’s the only one in the league who can matchup with Greek Freak, and we say Greek Freak is the best player in the league, so when they went head-to-head and [Davis] gave [Giannis] that 40 apiece, I was like “ok…” for the first time I felt like AD took it personal matching up against Giannis. If AD consistently plays the way he’s been playing, there’s no doubt the Lakers make the playoffs. But he’s got to be healthy.”

The two go on to debate who the best player in the league is, with Paul stating that Jayson Tatum is playing the best right now, but Giannis has the consistency and longevity of excellence to put him on another level. They also talk about the rise of the Pelicans, Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, signature shoes, and much much more. Check it out below.
