ESPN and the NBA recently announced the organization of a H-O-R-S-E tournament to be broadcast on television in prime time and Paul Pierce is among those taking part.

Eight players including Paul, fellow ESPN analyst Chauncy Billups, recent Hall of Famer Tamika Catchings, WNBA star Allie Quigley and the NBA’s Chris Paul, Zach LaVine, Mike Conley Jr. and Trae Young.

The Truth will be matched up with LaVine, the Bulls forward who has previously won the Slam Dunk Contest and Three-Point Contest at NBA All-Star Weekend. A three-point contest winner in his own right, Paul believes the fact that dunking is not permitted in this competition may behoove him against LaVine. He told Maria Taylor, Jay Williams and Jalen Rose as much on the latest NBA Countdown: Stay Home.

“That a great matchup. Zach, you know he’s got some tricks up his sleeve, but the good thing is you can’t dunk in this so I think I have the advantage,” Paul said. “You’ve got to make shots at the end of the day.”

Watch the Countdown crew break down the field, help Paul with a scouting report and talk about his chances, as well as LeBron’s comments on a potential premature end to the 2019-20 NBA season due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kevin Garnett’s comments on not wanting his jersey retired in Minnesota and why you won’t catch Paul watching reality TV.
