Kyrie Irving raised some eyebrows recently when he wouldn’t confirm his willingness to re-sign with the Boston Celtics this offseason, prompting speculation he could join the New York Knicks or reunite with LeBron James in Los Angeles.

However, Paul Pierce thinks that Kyrie’s comments shouldn’t worry Celtics’ fans all that much at this point because the team is set up for the long-run and should only improve moving forward.

“This team is built for the long-run. They have young players, they have a veteran in Kyrie, they have assets, so this team could possibly be in the finals,” Pierce said. “Winning solves a lot of problems.”
