As the NBA season is coming to an end, Paul Pierce notices how much improved the Philadelphia 76ers are in their first full season with Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid.

“They can beat Boston. They can beat Toronto.”

Embiid seems to be the Eastern Conference’s most physical presence along the paint and a displays a nice shooting touch to go along with his array of post moves. Pierce is not afraid to make that claim:

“They are the only team in the east that has a legitimate inside presence and outside shooting presence.”

Back in 2002, the Celtics made a run to the Eastern Conference Finals with Pierce at the forefront. He sees the 76ers making that type of run early on in “The Process.”

“We had no experience at all. We ended up in the conference finals versus the Nets, we were just hungry and wanted to prove ourselves….and that could be the Sixers.”
