For much of a pivotal Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals on Saturday evening in Washington D.C., the Wizards were dominating the Atlanta Hawks. Washington has built a 21-point lead and appeared primed to cruise to a victory and a 2-1 lead in the best of seven series.

But the Hawks mounted a late rally that put the Wiz on the ropes and when Mike Muscala hit a three with 14.8 seconds left to tie the game at 101-101, overtime appeared to be in the offing. However, the Wizards had one more chance and they put the ball in the hands of one of the most clutch players in NBA history. From there, Paul Pierce simply did what Paul Pierce does.
