Could Love Be Traded at the Deadline?

Kevin Love may have signed a four-year extension with the Cleveland Cavaliers last summer, but that doesn’t rule out the versatile big man from being traded to a contender at the trade deadline this season. Love is averaging 19 points and 14 rebounds per game for the rebuilding Cavs this season, and he could be an attractive mid-season acquisition for a team looking to put their roster over the top.

He may not fit with every team’s needs in the league at this point in his career, but his skill set will be valued by some teams looking for a little extra frontcourt help down the stretch. Paul Pierce believes that the Houston Rockets could be a good pairing, where Love would add more offensive firepower alongside Russell Westbrook and James Harden.

“For me one (team) that comes to mind is Houston,” Pierce said. “Right now, they’re struggling. They’re near the (No. 8 spot in the Western Conference). If you added Kevin Love to them, with Westbrook and Harden, you can say they may be the ongoing favorites in the West.”
