Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns were both suspended without pay for two games following their on-court fight during Wednesday night’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and Minnesota Timberwolves. Ben Simmons, however, was not suspended despite video footage of the Sixers guard putting Towns in a headlock.

Towns and Simmons are friends off the court, and the 76ers claim that Simmons was acting as a peacemaker. Paul Pierce, however, thinks that Simmons should have faced similar repercussions as Towns and Embiid because Simmons and Towns were not teammates.

“Don’t put your hands around my neck if your’re not my teammate,” Pierce said. “He should’ve gotten suspended. Absolutely.”
