Just one week ago, Paul Pierce said to give the Rockets more time, that the time to worry about their playoff hopes is still in the distance. One week later, Pierce revised his claim and thinks time is just about to run out for the Houston Rockets.

“They dropped the ball,” Pierce said. “That’s it. The window I think, for the Houston Rockets is closed.”

During the offseason, the Rockets added plenty of new faces, including Carmelo Anthony, James Ennis III and Michael Carter-Willams. The vision that Daryl Morey had for the Rockets just has not panned out so far this season, as the new additions have not filled the void left by the departures of Trevor Ariza, Ryan Anderson, Luc Mbah a Moute and Joe Johnson.

“This reminds me of the years after we won the championship, we lost James Posey,” Pierce said. “We didn’t resign him back, that was huge for us. He was a key, and that’s what I see for the Houston Rockets.”
