Even In the Dog Days of August, Paul's Weeks Are Full

The Paul Pierce Team
The rigors of the NBA season take a long time to prepare for, and an even longer time to recover from. Most players take the "off-" part of "off-season" seriously, especially the veterans.

But just like he's done every summer since he entered the NBA, Paul Pierce decided to spend a few days this week helping out.
On Wednesday, Paul will be down in New York City with some of basketball's living legends to participate in a fundraising event for Barack Obama. Paul will be sharing a court with some of the game's greats as well a few of its most hyped up and comers; players ranging Patrick Ewing to Harrison Barnes are expected to be in attendance, putting Paul in a unique kind of company.
The next day, he'll be involved in a different kind of game, playing Kinect 360 at a brand new Microsoft store opening in the Shops at the Prudential Center. It'll give fans a unique opportunity to meet Paul's inner child, and a playful context for Paul's legendary competitive streak to come out as well.
NBA training camps don't begin for another few weeks, and a lot of preparations will be made to ensure that this coming season is a success. In the meantime, keep up with Paul's activities by liking his Facebook page and following him on Twitter.
