Down Night in Indiana
by
Andrew Mees
Number 34 and his running mates did not plan on starting their road schedule like this.
The league’s best road team a season ago (31-10), Paul and the Boston Celtics had their two-game winning streak snapped by Danny Granger and the Indiana Pacers with a 95-79 loss in Indianapolis Tuesday night.
The Truth had another solid night, notching his first double-double of the young season with 15 points and 10 rebounds, and going 7-of-12 from the charity stripe. But Danny Granger’s 20 points and the great play of Pacers point guard TJ Ford proved to be too much for the Celtics to overcome.
THE NEXT BECKHAM?
Number 34’s career with the Celtics is far from over, but has the Truth thought about finishing his career overseas?
In an interview with My Super Basket, a publication in Greece, Paul was asked about the possibility of making the jump to Europe to play, as several NBA players have already done.
“I’m talking seriously. I’m not one of those that shut doors. If an opportunity comes up I will consider it very carefully. Of course the Celtics will always have the first word, but the choice of Europe, if up to then in continuous existing, I will consider very serious,” he said.
He also commented on his two superstar teammates, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett:
“I appreciate every moment I have next to Kevin and Ray. The years that pass by don’t come back. I want I be able when I will look back, to know that I took advantage of their presence in every possible way. I try to enjoy every moment with those two. When you communicate with someone you can also have disagreements. All that is expected. It’s creative. We have a common base and the one pushes the other so that we become better, so that we taste once again the joy of a championship”.

I'm so happy for Pierce. Happy for KG and Ray Allen too, but Pierce had to bottom out with the Celtics and he didn't demand a trade.
