The Bucks Stop Here
by Andrew Mees

The world champs withstood the Milwaukee Bucks’ best haymakers, and the Truth led his teammates to victory once again.

Behind 20 points five boards and five assists from Paul, the Celtics took their third game in a row with a 101-89 victory over the Bucks Friday night in Boston.

Trailing 29-21 after the first quarter, the captain and his running stormed back with a 32-17 second quarter, behind 7 points from No. 34 in the frame. The Celtics held a slim five-point lead at the end of three quarters, but Paul and his teammates turned it on in the game’s final stanza, holding the Bucks to just 19 points in the quarter.

AN ALARMING TREND
The past two games have been marked by the Celtics’ inability to get off to a fast start. They have had significant deficits at the end of the first quarter in the team’s previous two games, something The Truth knows they have to improve on if they’re going to be an elite team in the NBA.

"We've got to do a better job, definitely, of getting off to a better start," Paul told the Boston Globe. "We're putting ourselves in a hole, and we have to understand that, especially going to Detroit, and with teams coming in here next week."

NEXT UP
Number 34 and the rest of the Celtics travel to Detroit for a Sunday game against new acquisition Allen Iverson and the Detroit Pistons, in a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals.
