09/26/2011 - 10:42 VIDEO: Watch Paul Pierce's Clutch Three From This Weekend's Kansas Legends Game by
The Paul Pierce Team
Everybody knows that Paul Pierce loves to take big shots at the ends of games. This weekend at the University of Kansas's Allen Fieldhouse, he reminded everybody why.
Paul's alma mater held an exhibition game, Legends of the Phog, both to celebrate its 1952, 1988 and 2008 national championship teams and to honor the memory of a longtime assistant, Neil Dougherty, who passed away last summer. It was also Paul's first trip back to Allen Fieldhouse since 2003, and he was greeted with a standing ovation as he came out of the tunnel onto the court.
Despite being just an exhibition for alumni, fans and current recruits, Paul said there was a "game seven" atmosphere in the legendary gymnasium. That probably explains why he was up for coolly tying the game with just seconds to go, with a fadeaway three-pointer he nailed over Brandon Rush.
