Few people are more synonymous with the Boston Celtics franchise than Paul Pierce, but among the few Tommy Heinsohn would qualify.

A former Celtics player, coach and long-time Boston broadcaster, Heinsohn passed away on Tuesday, November 10 at the age of 86. His death made members of the Celtics and NBA community emotional. Among them, The Truth, who got to know Tommy well over his time in Boston.

“You talk about an iconic figure, iconic voice, a guy who was there at the beginning of what we consider Celtic lore. He’s always a guy who has been so passionate about Boston pride and the city of Boston and tradition. It’s a sad day today.”
