Quarantine boredom has officially set in for NBA fans and journalists.

Two of the top stories on The Jump feature far-fetched scenarios involving big market teams and star players.

The first is a story from a New York journalist that the Knicks, stop me if you’ve heard this one before, are “incredibly well-positioned to trade for a disgruntled superstar if one becomes available.” Paul Pierce shut that theory down pretty quick, noting that just because the Knicks trade for a star player doesn’t mean that player will stick around.

“We’ve seen a number of stars that just didn’t want to play for the New York Knicks organization and I think that has a lot to do with ownership. So it doesn’t matter what your assets are or what you’re capable of doing, it’s about doing [the right things] and can keep the star. I just don’t see that right now with the way Knicks ownership is set up. Guys around the league talk and they’ve been talking for years about the Knicks organization. That’s why they’ve been able to land a star free agent or via trade.”

The other story has to do with Lakers star Anthony Davis selling his house in the Westlake Village neighborhood of Los Angeles and what it may mean for his future. Again Paul, who himself lives is in LA, shut down the rumor with a simple geography lesson.

“If you know the landscape of Los Angeles, Westlake Village is so far out the way from the [Lakers] practice facility, from [Staples Center], I would’ve sold my house right away. To commute to practice every day is an hour and a half drive, to commute to the game is an hour and a half drive, why would I have a home where I’m going to be sitting in traffic half of the day just to get to work. I see when he wants to move,” Paul said. “I would take no stock in this move.”
