James Harden recently stated that he feels like he is the best player in the NBA right now, citing that reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo is not as skilled of a player, but rather his size is what makes him so effective.

The NBA Countdown crew debates this topic, and whether Giannis would be just as dominant if he were around Michael Jordan’s height. Paul Pierce took Harden’s side in this one, citing the craftiness of the Rockets’ veteran guard as a skill that will last over time.

“It’s hard for me to argue with what (Harden) is saying, and I’m going to side with him,” Pierce said. “As you get older, you lose your athleticism. You’ve got to play with more skill. I was able to play 19 years, not because of my athleticism, but because of my IQ and skills. In a way, I agree with James.”
