Stephen Curry underwent surgery on his broken hand on Friday, which will sideline him for at least three months. With Klay Thompson already out with a knee injury from last year’s Finals and Kevin Durant in Brooklyn, the Warriors are suddenly depleted of the talent that made them such a fearsome opponent over the last several seasons.

However, with Steph now sidelined for at least the majority of the season, the Golden State Warriors no longer have any expectations on them and can focus on rebuilding the team for next season.

“I didn’t have high expectations for the Warriors, maybe playoffs,” Pierce said. “I never thought there was any pressure on them anyways. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise. You never want to see anyone get hurt. They can get a lottery pick, maybe rebuild with that.”
