A tumultuous week for the Phoenix Suns continued on Friday when a trade that was supposed to ship Trevor Ariza to the Washington Wizards fell through because of confusion regarding their return from the Memphis Grizzlies as a part of the three-team trade.

Phoenix believed they were going to receive Dillon Brooks, a much younger player with higher upside, but the Grizzlies were agreeing to the trade under the impression they were giving up veteran journeyman MarShon Brooks instead. This is just another embarrassing situation that the Suns have recently gotten themselves into, and Paul Pierce thinks changes need to be made in order for that franchise to turn things around.

“Look how much has gone on the last few weeks,” Pierce said. “From the (talks of potential relocation) to the Trevor (Ariza) trade to this. Something has to be done over there. I’m sorry. Something has to be done.”
