Joel Embiid has been as healthy as he’s ever been this season, ranking high in terms of most minutes played across the league this season. However, the heavy workload may be starting to catch up with him as he has struggled in his last few games, including in a loss to the Toronto Raptors in which Embiid scored only 10 points on 17 shots.

Paul believes Embiid’s lack of offensive numbers is a result of Jimmy Butler taking a bigger role in the Sixers’ offense than anyone had previously done before the trade.

“I think roles got redefined,” Pierce said. “Jimmy Butler’s going out here and giving you 38 (points) now. They didn’t have another player like that on the team that could go out there and give you 38, so it’s taking away from Joel Embiid’s offense.”
