On Monday late in the second quarter, Sixers guard Markelle Fultz was benched in favor of T.J. McConnell. Head coach Brett Brown said after the game that he would not move forward with one definitive back-up point guard, and Fultz’s agent said that his client would not play or practice with the team until he sees a shoulder specialist next week.

Pierce expressed that the team and Fultz should go back to the tapes of him in college that got him where he is now and evaluate what has changed. Pierce thinks the team is changing his form and creating new habits for the former No. 1 overall pick.

“Before the draft, we saw this kid as the potential No. 1 pick. We never saw any of this.” Pierce said. “He had a nice shot, he was going to the rack, he was showing athleticism and then he gets to the league, I’m like what happened?”
