Tyson Chandler could be the missing piece that the Los Angeles Lakers needed defensively. They have been one of the worst defensive teams to start the season, and the addition of the veteran big man seems to have already paid off after his first game with the team against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a 114-110 victory.

Chandler adds some much-needed rim protection in addition to Javale McGee, and he will be able to provide some veteran leadership to a team full of young talent looking to grow up quickly in the NBA.

“That was a huge pick-up, and it was right on time. If they don’t have Tyson in this game, I’m not sure they even win,” Pierce said. “He brings championship experience, although Javale McGee does too, but (Chandler) is the ultimate pro, and he gives them size (the Lakers) didn’t have off the bench.”
