The Lakers’ record dipped to 4-6 after a 121-107 loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Some inconsistencies had to be expected early with such a young team that has so many new pieces, but is Luke Walton’s job security in danger from such a slow start?

Paul Pierce said on First Take that Walton should be safe for now, stating that he needs more time to prove what this team can be once they find their identity under Walton.

“You’ve got to give him at least 25 to 30 games to see where you’re going to be at,” Pierce said. “LeBron’s been on teams where they’ve started slow, and they picked it up. I know he’s a little older, but this is still LeBron James. You’ve got to give this team time to gel.”
