The Cleveland Cavaliers have predictably started slow after the departure of LeBron James in the offseason, and now they have fired their head coach, Ty Lue.

The Cavs will likely enter rebuild mode as they try to collect assets to form a new core of talent that can carry the franchise now that LeBron is gone. Larry Drew will take over as the acting head coach, and while he lead them to an 8-1 record last season when Lue missed some time, this team brings a whole new set of challenges.

“That’s a tough situation to be in,” Pierce said. “You’ve got to be fairly compensated to coach this Cleveland team the way it is.”
