It has been nearly a year since Gordon Hayward’s season-ending injury on opening night last year, and he is eagerly awaiting his return to the Celtics. Because of the injury, he still really hasn’t had the chance to play much with his new teammates.

So Paul joined The Jump to discuss what fans should expect from Hayward this season as he adjusts to his new teammates and the Celtics look to return to the NBA Finals. Paul thinks fans shouldn’t expect the statistics he posted in Utah for two reasons, because of coming off the injury and the incredible depth of the Celtics roster and the way they spread the ball around.

“Even if he was Hayward from Utah before the injury, with the way this Boston Celtics team is constructed, it’s going to be hard for him to really put up big stats because they’re so deep and well-rounded,” Pierce said. “But I really expect him to have a solid year.”
