Harrison Barnes joined Paul Pierce, Rachel Nichols and Amin Elhassan on The Jump to discuss what he’s been doing all offseason, expectations for next season after the Mavericks acquired DeAndre Jordan and Luka Doncic in the offseason, and what he has learned from Dirk Nowitzki the last couple of seasons in Dallas.

Paul believes it is great for Barnes to be exposed to such a great player like Nowitzki because it can help propel Barnes to new heights on the court with his game and a a leader in Dallas. Sooner or later Barnes is expected to be the face of the franchise, so learning from one of the best can only help Barnes as he moves forward in his career.

“I think it’s great that you can be around greatness like this,” Pierce said.  “And you can learn from it because as (Nowitzki) moves forward, you’re the one who’s going to be carrying the torch.”
