One of the NBA’s biggest storylines of the season revolves around Kawhi Leonard’s participation with the San Antonio Spurs. Paul Pierce gave his perspective on this topic while on The Jump with Rachel Nichols and Zach Lowe:

“I think he is stuck between a rock and a hard place because the Spurs are not in the playoffs right now as we speak and then when you look at the Spurs, you’re talking about a team that’s [usually] a contender.”

Currently, the Spurs are not one of the top eight seeds in the Western Conference.

“If he sees that they’re not contending and just trying to make the playoffs, maybe he sits out and says he wants to be 100% and come in next season. This is a big summer for him, he can sign huge deals!”

You think Pierce likes Leonard’s game?

“He’s getting the super max!”

“If I’m San Antonio, I am offering the super max.”
