After signing a one-day contract with the Boston Celtics and visiting Union Oyster House in Beantown, Paul Pierce continued up to Bristol to sign another contract and open the next chapter in his NBA career.

The Truth officially joined ESPN, saying he hopes to work as both in-studio and on the court as an analyst.

“I’d like to do both,” Paul said. “That’s why I signed the contract with Boston today. The minute I sign with ESPN, I’m officially retired.”

To transfer to the booth after a storied career on the court is a perfect fit for the Inglewood, Calif. native.

“I can work in LA, which is where I am from, and I am already used to people at the network after working with them the last two years,” said Pierce, in an interview earlier this week. “And Beadle makes everyone feel comfortable. It just feels natural to me talking hoops and analyzing the game. I feel like I have been doing it forever.”
